Thrilling crowds with the finest civil and military flying displays, visitors to Wings & Wheels are also treated to non-stop action on the ground with a line-up of record-breaking race cars and motoring demonstrations, arena attractions and retail therapy. So whether a wide-eyed first timer, a seasoned veteran, aviation buff or motoring enthusiast the experience will leave you breathless! With over 100 aircraft and 500+ vehicles participating each year, upwards of 36,000 visitors and support from the Royal Air Force and Brooklands Museum, Wings & Wheels is acknowledged as one of the UK's premier outdoor events for the whole family. Wings & Wheels 2011 was staged over the weekend of 28 and 29 August and was led by thrilling 5 hour flying displays with fast jets and historic aircraft and 2 hour motoring demonstrations with vintage and iconic cars. Visitors also got to meet the crews and drivers, get close to the aircraft and cars and enjoy a feast of first class arena entertainment including our new Stunt Zone, Hotrod Zone and 1940s Zone, flight simulators, shopping and a fairground. History of Wings & WheelsDunsfold Park Ltd founded Wings & Wheels to celebrate the long history of British aviation and motoring, it is also staged to raise much needed funds for charities. Since inception in 2005, some £270,000 has been distributed to nominated charities and in 2012 we are hoping to raise even more. Those benefiting from the 2012 show include Brooklands Museum, Cranleigh Village Hospital Trust, Help for Heroes and Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance. |
