This year’s two day show is being held over the August Bank Holiday, Sunday 29th and Monday 30th August, at Dunsfold Park near Guildford, Surrey and organisers are hoping to match last year’s donation.
Jamie McAllister, Event Director, comments: “We were delighted to be able to support Help for Heroes and raise so much money for the charity in one day. The whole team have found it incredibly rewarding to see the results of our fundraising efforts and it has spurred us on to make this year’s Wings & Wheels bigger and better. In supporting Help for Heroes again in 2010 we are aiming to raise more funds for their new initiative which will see Personnel Recovery Centres (PRCs) built across the UK, ensuring that the wounded are cared for with tailor made Individual Recovery Plans.”
PRCs will provide a launch pad to life for seriously wounded or long term sick service personnel. Fundraising continues to help pay for the Individual Recovery Programmes (IRPs) for those whose injuries mean that they will have to move on into civilian life. H4H have committed a further £5m each year (£3.75m for the Army) to support the IRPs. Typically, this fund will be used to enhance the resettlement package already available to Servicemen as they leave and to help give them every chance at a successful future. £20M has already been raised with a further £20m needed to reach the target of £40M.
Raising £80,000 for charities and attracting phenomenal crowds of over 25,000 in 2009 with some of the finest aircraft and motoring displays in the UK, Wings & Wheels is not just an Airshow, it’s an exciting weekend of family entertainment.
Tickets prices remain the same as 2009 and start from: £16 for adults, £5 for under 15’s and £36 for a family. Hospitality packages start at £120 per person.
